Michinoku Coastal Trail Adventure Hiking with Sherry from Ottsworld

Departure Dates

Starts October 25th 2015 departure in Sendai.
Finishes on November 1st 2025 in Hachinohe.

Tour cost

648,900JPY per person (US$4200 calculated at the exchange rate of US$ to JPY of 1=154.5) 
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required to secure seat at time of booking (JPY129780), with final payment of your tour due 90days before departure.
Rooms are twin share.

Single supplement is available for most nights except the Glamping experience on day 6.
Single supplement is plus 15,000JPY per person dependent on availability.


 

Program

Day 1

 12:00 Meet at Sendai Station and transfer to Natori Trail Center for orientation.

Visit the Arahama Elementary School and learn about the disaster. 

Stay overnight at a hotel in Sendai, and enjoy a welcome dinner and an original cocktail at Aquarius Bar

 

Day 2

 Depart hotel. Visit the Tuna Markets in Shiogama and enjoy a fresh seafood bowl breakfast. After this, we will hike the beautiful Urato Shoto Island area off the coast of Matsushima Bay.  

Enjoy a dinner paired with local sake for dinner.

  Stay overnight in Kesennuma area

 

Day 3

 Depart Hotel and visit the Iwate Tsunami memorial to learn about the tsunami in this area. After this, enjoy a cycling tour around the Rikuzen Takata area including lunch with the locals.

  Stay overnight in Kamaishi area

 

Day 4

 Enjoy a morning sea kayak tour at Jodogahama beach. After refreshing, walk the Michinoku coastal trail in Miyako area and enjoy a local lunch.

 Stay overnight in Jodogahama area

 

Day 5

 Depart the hotel and walk the Michinoku Coastal trail in Tanohata area of Kitayamazaki today. Try your hand at making salt after the hike.

Experience the local delicacies arranged in a French style at L`Oreole Tanohata.

Day 6

 Depart hotel and head north. Today we will walk the Michinoku Coastal trail course in the Kuji area, through the beautiful forests and amazing rock formations of Samurai Rock.

 Experience the sento culture at the local public bathhouse in Hachinohe, before relaxing at the retreat camp at Tanesashi Coast, including a BBQ dinner cooked by a local chef.

  Stay overnight at Tanesashi Campgrounds

 

Day 7

 Enjoy breakfast at the campgrounds before walking the Michinoku Coastal trail to the Northern Trail head at Kabushima Shrine.

Transfer to Hon-Hachinohe area, were we will enjoy a local dinner followed by a Michinoku Coastal Trail cocktail at the local bar Prince.

 

Day 8

 After Breakfast, check out and head on to your next destination via Bullet train from Hachinohe Station.

Dietary Requirements

If you have allergies such as buckwheat, nuts or seafood, we can accommodate these needs at every meal as long as we know in advance. Furthermore, we can also accommodate for vegetarian (specifically lacto-ovo vegetarian) or pescatarian options for each meal as well with notice. Unfortunately, we cannot cater specifically for gluten-free, halal, kosher or vegan options on this particular tour.


Cancellation Policy
Final payments are due 90 days before departure. At this time it will become non-refundable.
Cancellations after this date will incur 100% of the tour cost.
Cancellations before this date can be made but the deposit is non-refundable.
All cancellations must be received in writing and are not effective until received.
If your trip has commenced, no refund will be given for any unused services if you leave the trip early or if portions of the trip package are missed (for whatever reason).

 

Payments
We will send a booking confirmation by email with an invoice requesting the deposit to secure the seat, and then the remaining balance prior to tour departure date. If Michinori Travel Tohoku has not received payment by the due date, the booking will be cancelled.

Payment can be made via bank transfer or online credit card payment.

 

Travel Insurance
It is a condition of booking, that the sole responsibility lies with the guest to ensure that they carry the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover themselves, as well as any dependents/travelling companions for the duration of their trip in Japan. This insurance should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities: cancellation or curtailment of the tour, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, damage/theft/loss of personal baggage, money and goods. Michinori Travel Tohoku, including their representatives, employees and agents will take no responsibility for any costs, losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or guest’s dependents or travelling companions, with regards to, but not limited to, any of the above-mentioned eventualities.

Guests will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require and may find themselves in a position unable to access such services should they not be carrying the relevant insurance cover. Michinori Travel Tohoku can upon request provide insurance quotes for suitable Travel Insurance.
